1November 17th, 2012 - Friday and Saturday night found Chris entering the final two events of his 2012 campaign during the 6th Annual USMTS Texas Winter Nationals at Royal Purple Raceway (Baytown, Texas).

On Friday evening with 81 entries in the pit area Chris won his heat race from the third starting spot to lock into the redraw for the $3,000-to-win feature. He received the eighth starting spot in the redraw. The 40 lap main event would see any chances of a win for Brown come to an early end as mechanical issues sidelined him early in the race to a twenty-first place finish.

Saturday night found Brown looking for redemption from Friday night's bad luck, but unfortunately his luck would only be worse. A $4,000 winner's purse was posted for the program as 82 competitors set their sights on the big win. After starting fifth in his heat race Chris was unable to pass any cars, and his fifth place finish sent him to the fourth b-main, where he started in the seventh position. With the top three finishers from the consolation event transferring to the feature Brown would only be able to manage a fourth place finish, which brought his weeknd to an early end.
